01 · Context

The challenge

Universidad Anáhuac needed to accelerate its digital transformation but had no dedicated design or development capacity in-house. Academic and administrative processes were manual, fragmented, and dependent on external vendors with long delivery cycles and no institutional knowledge retention.

The mandate: build an internal team and a scalable digital product capability from scratch, while delivering high-impact products for thousands of students and administrators — fast.

02 · Building the team

10 people, one culture, built from zero

I recruited, onboarded, and led a 10-person team spanning UX/UI designers, frontend and backend developers, and QA. Beyond hiring, the challenge was creating a shared way of working from day one — without an existing playbook.

Soy León — The student companion app

A mobile app giving every Anáhuac student a single place to manage their academic life — from profile and scholarships to tutoring sessions, campus events, and social service hours. Built with a friendly, character-driven onboarding featuring "Leonel," the university's lion mascot, to make the experience approachable and distinctly Anáhuac.

Internationalization Platform — Managing student exchanges

A web platform handling the complete lifecycle of student academic exchanges — both outgoing (students leaving to study abroad) and incoming (international students arriving at Anáhuac). The platform manages applications, document validation, coordinator interviews, status tracking, and university partnerships across multiple countries.

The admin side features a purple-themed portal for coordinators to manage candidates through a funnel-based pipeline — from initial sessions to nomination and acceptance.
